Today was the second beta test. When you are pregnant early on in IVF, they check your HCG levels to make sure they are rising properly like they should. The rule of thumb is for the beta to double every 48-72 hours (or at least a 60% increase by 48 hours). So far:
6/30/08 Beta #1: 101
7/2/08 Beta #2: 192
So it's close enough to doubling for me :). Since it's not rising at a rapid rate, we're assuming that there is only one baby that made it based on the lower numbers (twins are generally twice this high)...however we won't know that for sure until our 6.5 week ultrasound!
Next beta is Monday, July 7...our 1 year wedding anniversary!! Please keep the prayers going as our little angel is not out of the woods yet!
