Rough weekend!

We had a rough weekend with Kamryn! Poor thing caught some kind of bug and had a really high fever all weekend and last night. We thought we were going to have to take her to the ER as her temp kept spiking up over 103 degrees!! Tylenol didn't seem to do much to help her, but thankfully the Motrin kept things down. Last night, she had a huge spike up to 103.7 and we ended up giving her the Motrin a little early to help her and shortly after she started sweating profusely (which she hadn't been able to do all weekend)...then she finally slept and by this morning her temp was only about 99 and she seemed much happier. Hopefully it's all behind her now! Unfortunately, Kayla is starting to get very fussy, which is how Kamryn started so I'm worried she may now come down with whatever Kamryn had. So we'll just keep watching. All I know is I haven't slept much the last three nights being up with Kamryn and I don't know how I'll do it if Kayla gets sick. I guess I'll find some strength in there somewhere!! Going to take Kamryn to the Dr today as a precaution to make sure she doesn't have an infection going on and need an antibiotic, but if it's viral, will just have to let it run its course!

PE Tubes

Sorry for the long gap between posts, it's been rather hectic around the homestead for the last few weeks. Today was a big day...Kayla had PE tubes (ear tubes) put in this morning. She is doing great so far, she is such a trooper! After all that she has been through in the last almost nine months, she amazes me with her resiliance! She went back with the nurses and didn't even let out a peep...Mommy on the other hand cried as soon as she left. Not 15 minutes later the Dr came out and got me. She was really fussy then, but calmed down about 20 minutes later. He was able to drain out all the fluid in both ears and said she did in fact have an infection still in there so she's on drops for a few days. We hope and pray that this is the last surgery this little girl ever has to go through. It won't get rid of her reflux, but I'm hoping that it will give her some relief to the pain and the constant fevers and she will be able to sleep soundly now and give her body a chance to grow! She is still so tiny and still fits in most 3 month clothes while Kamryn is now wearing 9 month old clothes!! Poor Kayla is destined to get Kamryn's hand-me-downs for the time being!!

Kamryn continues to do well, she's eating and sleeping great! She pretty much sleeps through the night with an occasional wakeup here and there, but she's a very easy baby so I can't complain! Our night nanny is scheduled to become our day nanny next week so I'm hoping the PE tubes work wonders and both girls can finally get a good nights rest!!
