Studio One Redemption

Previously, we had a really terrible photo shoot at Studio One and I was very unhappy. Well we had been referred there by a friend who worked there, but she ended up moving to a different store and she was also mortified by the pics that they took. So she graciously offered to do ours again at her location and they turned out much better so we are happy to finally have some great pics of the girls!! I won't put these in a slideshow so you can see them better...I love the smiles (when we could catch them!)

Ear Tubes

Well, my little Kayla has been scheduled to have ear tubes put in :(. Poor thing just gets all the problems. She has had fluid in her middle ear for about two months now and after two rounds of antibiotics it hasn't gotten any better. I read that this is very common, especially for refluxers as the stomach fluids can go up into her nasal passages and then into her eustachian tubes into the ears. Unfortunately for her, it's a viscious cycle as the antibiotics for the ear infections make the reflux worse, which then gets back into the ears. Many moms of refluxers have said the tubes were miracle workers on their babies and since Kayla is so uncomfortable the Dr and I decided to just do the surgery and not wait. She is scheduled for her surgery on October 6, I wish we could do it earlier but just wasn't meant to be. Hopefully she won't get much worse in the meantime.

Kamryn is doing great although she seems to be night owl!! She is making Kiko laugh right now as she's supposed to be asleep and she just keeps looking up at him and smiling. He keeps trying to ignore her but she's just so darn cute that you can't help but smile and laugh when she's looking at you! We're gonna be such suckers I think...LOL.

Just a quick update!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...internet has been down at home...I HATE COMCAST!!! Ok, I said it...

Anyway, the girls are doing well and today is their 8 month birthday!! I can't believe it has been 8 months already since they blessed us with their birth!!

Kamryn continues to surpass most of her milestones, she has two bottom teeth and she's working on some top ones now, she is sitting up all by herself with only a few topples, she wants to crawl...but just can't seem to get going on it yet! But that's ok, the Dr's remind us she's still only developmentally a 6 month old so to be patient! She now weighs over 17 lbs and is 25" long!!

Kayla is also continuing to thrive! She also has her two bottom teeth and is getting close to getting her top ones. She sits up by herself for a little bit, but usually topples over because she's trying to go get something...I think she may crawl before Kamryn because she's always moving!! She rolls all over the place and gets mad when she runs into something and can't roll anymore. She now weighs 13 lbs and is almost 24" long!!

Progress!!

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in so long!! We've been trying to launch a space shuttle this week and my system decided to not cooperate so I've been VERY busy...

ANYWHOO...Just wanted to update everyone on the girls (and not my life...LOL). Kayla has hit 12 lbs and I'm 99% sure that Kamryn is over 16 lbs!!!

I still feel like Kayla isn't gaining a lot of weight, but I guess the scales don't lie! She's been dealing with her reflux, teething and fluid in the ears...so you can only imagine how that is going!! Fortunately, I got her in to an ENT last week when I wasn't happy with how her Pediatrician was handling the ear issues and they were FABULOUS! They checked her hearing (which was great) and then they checked her ears and nose. The Dr could see evidence of her reflux getting up into her nose and he said that usually will go into the Eustachean tubes and cause the fluid to build up in her ears and cause infections. He recommended giving Kayla Singulair allergy medicine! The thinking is that by helping the sinuses/nasal passage to not get upset by the reflux, it would cut down on the amount of moisture that would be produced when she did reflux. I can honestly say that we noticed an immediate difference after the first night!!! Right after we gave her the medicine, she slept solidly for the first night in a long time!! She only woke up once to eat her midnight bottle and barely budged the rest of the night! Before, she would wake up constantly from the Reflux bothering her and causing her pain. Every night since she started the Singulair has been wonderful!! In fact, we are going to start working on trying to get her sleeping through most of the night and wean her off that midnight bottle now! Now if we could just get rid of the Reflux....

Baby pool sharks!

Well, since Kiko and I met in a pool hall playing in a pool league, it's only fitting that our little girls start learning how to play!! Too soon? Perhaps...but they are just too stinkin' cute not to try!! (And thanks to my cousin Bradley for helping me figure out how to make the slideshows finally!!!)
